What size is a Hewn Record?
The framed work is 50cm x 50cm and the frame is 4 cm deep.

What are Hewn Records made from?
We carve the records from an ultra-high density wood fibre composite. By mass it is roughly 85% wood-fibre pulp and 15% resin.

Where are your works made?
All Hewn Records are made in the UK by specialist craftsmen and suppliers. They are hand-finished by Hewn Works in its London studio.

Where can I see a Hewn Record?
You are welcome to come to our London studio to see a range of different records, please email hello@hewn.works to arrange a date.

How much do your works cost?

How will my song look?
The soundwave of each song is resampled to make it suitable to be fabricated at a tactile scale. The result is a unique texture for every song. Features of each song may be visible but buyers should not expect a literal representation.

How long do your works take to make?
Each piece is custom made to order, and takes 3 - 4 weeks to produce and ship. If you need one urgently we may be able to expedite the production for an additional fee, please email hello@hewn.works to discuss.

What is your returns policy?
As each Hewn Record piece is bespoke we cannot offer refunds. If your artwork has arrived and is damaged please contact us immediately for repair or replacement.

I'm interested in a different material or a larger piece - is this possible?
We are happy to consider bespoke requests, and can customise the size, materials and shape of our works. Email hello@hewn.works to discuss.

Can I have it as an NFT?
No.

Can I play it on a record player?
Not recommended - for the Hewn Record or your player. If you try it, let us know how it sounds!
